Texas Instruments UCC2x52xEVM-286 Gate Driver Evaluation Modules

Texas Instruments UCC2x52xEVM-286 Gate Driver Evaluation Modules (EVMs) are designed to evaluate TI's 5.7kVRMS isolated dual-channel gate driver family devices. These evaluation modules evaluate the UCC21520DW, UCC20520DW, UCC21521CDW, and UCC21530DWK. The Texas Instruments UCC2x52xEVM-286 has three independent screw terminal blocks for VCCI, VDDA, and VDDB. There are 3-position headers with jumpers for all the key input signals, such as PWM INPUTs (INA, INB, or PWM), dead time (DT) programming, and enable/disable function (EN/DIS). These headers allow designers to evaluate different protection functions easily. Various testing points support most of the key feature probing of the UCC2x52x.

Features

  • Layout example for using UCC20520 or UCC21521C to drive MOSFET, IGBT, and SiC up to 1200VDC
  • Peripheral components selection reference
  • Each pin is extended out in PCB layout for pin function identification
  • PCB board cutout facilitates high voltage isolation and test between the primary side and secondary side
  • Maximized creepage distance between two output channels

Required Equipment

  • Power Supplies
    • Three DC power supply with voltage/current above 25V/1A (for example, Agilent E3634A)
  • Function Generators
    • One two-channel function generator over 20MHz (for example, Tektronics AFG3252).
