Silicon Labs Si1151 & Si1152 Proximity/Ambient Light Sensors
Silicon Labs Si1151 and Si1152 Proximity/Ambient Light Sensors combine an ambient light sensor, a proximity sensor, and a gesture detector into a compact, single-chip solution. The low-power, long-range Si1151 and Si1152 sensors feature an I2C digital interface and programmable-event interrupt output. These touchless sensor ICs include dual 23-bit analog-to-digital converters, an integrated high-sensitivity array of visible and infrared photodiodes, a digital signal processor, and one (Si1151) or two (Si1152) integrated LED drivers with programmable drive levels.
The Silicon Labs Si1151 and Si1152 Sensors offer excellent performance under a wide dynamic range and in a variety of light sources, including direct sunlight. The Si1151 and Si1152 can also work under dark glass covers. The photodiode response and associated digital conversion circuitry provide excellent immunity to artificial light flicker noise and natural light flutter noise. With two LEDs, these Sensors are capable of supporting multiple-axis proximity motion detection. The Si1151 and Si1152 are provided in a 10-lead 2mm x 2mm DFN package, and are capable of operation from 1.62V to 3.6V over the –40°C to +85°C temperature range.
