These production-ready SoMs are fully optimized for both transformer-based language generation and convolutional neural network (CNN)-based vision analytics. With support for running popular large language models (LLMs), the platform provides powerful AI acceleration for a wide range of AI, human-machine interface (HMI), smart home, smart retail, industrial, and commercial IoT applications.

The SoM-SD520 and SoM-SD720 SoMs are based on the Genio 520 and 720 high-performance Gen-AI IoT system-on-chips (SoCs) from MediaTek. The Genio 520 and 720 AI Platforms deliver up to 10 TOPS with a built-in MediaTek 8th-generation Neural Processing Unit (NPU) and integrate an octa-core CPU with two Arm^® Cortex^®-A78 processors and six Cortex-A55 processors to optimize performance and power efficiency.

The SoM-SD520 and SoM-SD720 support up to two internal ISPs and six FHD MIPI virtual channels, offer multi-display output (eDP 4K60, DP 5K60), and feature extensive I/O interfaces, making them ideal for multi-camera AI-powered home surveillance systems, in-store AI camera systems, visual defect detection, and interactive signage.

Also available from Mouser, the Genio_520_EVK and Genio_720_EVK evaluation kits are easy-to-use, full-featured prototyping and development platforms for the Genio 520 and 720 chipsets. Both evaluation kits include a main board, camera boards, a 7" LCD with touch display, a pre-installed Wi-Fi^® 6 / Bluetooth^® 5.2 module, a Wi-Fi antenna, and the required cables. The evaluation kits serve as an accelerator for engineering teams, enhancing development cycles while maintaining high standards of quality and performance, reducing development time, minimizing project risks, and speeding time-to-market.
