STMicroelectronics EVAL-SCS006V1 Reference Design
STMicroelectronics EVAL-SCS006V1 Reference Design illustrates a minimal USB PD SINK implementation. It can be used as a small footprint reference design for fast migration from a custom power plug or DC barrel to a USB Type-C® connector. It is based on the STUSB4531 USB PD controller IC (USB Type-C rev 2.4, USB PD rev 3.2) and is certified as a “Power Sinking Device” (TID #13956).
The STMicroelectronics EVAL-SCS006V1 Reference Design is pre-configured with four power profiles. These profiles are PDP (30W), PDO1 (fixed) (5V/3A), PDO2 (fixed) (9V/3A), PDO3 (fixed) (15V/2A), and PDO4 (variable) (9V to 20V/1.5A). After connection to a compatible USB PD source, an LED turns on according to the USB PD result with the following colors:
Blue for PD01
Blue + red for PD02
Blue + green for PD03
Blue + yellow for PD04
