Silicon Labs EFR32BG21 Series 2 BLUETOOTH® Wireless SoCs
Silicon Labs EFR32BG21 Series 2 BLUETOOTH® Wireless SoCs offer an 80MHz Arm® Cortex-M33 core with a high-performance 2.4GHz radio to provide an industry-leading, energy-efficient wireless SoC for IoT-connected applications. The EFR32BG21 Blue Gecko wireless SoCs are designed to increase processing capability, improve RF performance, and lower active current while providing a higher level of security. The EFR32BG21 features 512kB, 768kB, and 1024kB Flash, 64 or 96kB RAM and is available in a QFN32 package. The SoCs provides a Bluetooth 5 protocol stack. Additionally, the EFR32BG21 has an integrated PA with up to 20dBm (2.4GHz) TX power.
The EFR32BG21 features a 12-channel Peripheral Reflex System enabling autonomous interaction of MCU peripherals. The EFR32BG21 SoCs provide enhanced security features that enable developers to implement robust security in connected products. The devices are ideal for lighting, connected home, gateways, digital assistants, building automation and security applications.
Silicon Labs' Wireless Gecko Series 2 platform takes advantage of Secure Vault by combining best-in-class security software features with physically unclonable function (PUF) hardware technology to greatly reduce the risk of IoT security breaches and compromised intellectual property.
Secure Vault's hardware features provide an optimized level of security implemented in a cost-effective, wireless SoC solution. The security subsystem, including a dedicated core, bus and memory, is separate from the host processor. This unique design of hardware separation isolates critical features, such as secure key store management and cryptography, into their own functional areas, making the overall device more secure.
Secure Vault delivers new security features including:
• Secure device identity
• Secure key management and storage
• Advanced tamper detection
