Panasonic Industrial Automation FT Thru-Beam Type Fiber Optic Sensors
Panasonic Industrial Automation FT Thru-Beam Type Fiber Optic Sensors feature tough, high-quality fiber and a reduced risk of breaking and bending during installation in a thru-beam package type. The stainless steel fittings used for fiber heads conform to RoHS while providing improved mounting strength. The FT series also utilizes uniform beams at the fiber aperture for stable sensing. The expansive range of product types includes threaded, square head, cylindrical, sleeve, flat, narrow or wide beam, liquid leak / liquid detection, and resistance to oil, chemicals, heat, and vacuums. Panasonic Industrial Automation FT Thru-Beam Type Fiber Optic Sensors can be used on moving parts and bent with precision, all while offering high quality for applications.Features

Products Available
- Threaded
- Standard fiber, mounted using nuts
- With lens installable type, long-distance sensing and microscopic object sensing are possible by installing lens
- Protective tube and sturdy stainless jacket prevent disconnection
- Ideal for detecting presence of a workpiece
- Improved centering accuracy (FT-31/31W/43/42/42W and FT-45X/R40) - beam axis deviation kept within ±3° and beam axis centering accuracy kept within ±150μm
- Improved specularity (FT-31/31W/43/42/42W and FT-45X/R40) - high-precision polishing technique increases light intensity, enabling stable sensing
- Square Head
- Compact, space-saving design brings clean installation on the side of a conveyor belt
- Reduces risk of tools and other objects catching fiber cable during installation
- Fiber can be installed at minimum pitch of 6.5mm (M3) or 8.5mm (M4) using needle-nose pliers
- Stainless steel (SUS303) body prevents damage due to over-tightening
- Standard lens outer diameter of ø4.3mm
- Sharp bending fiber with low level of light fluctuations (FT-R41W/R42W)
- Cylindrical
- Slender shape can be mounted in narrow locations using set screws
- Line-up includes ultra-thin fibers with ø0.25mm in tips
- Tough fiber with built-in lens (FT-S22)
- Sleeve Type
- Suitable for sensing in narrow locations and sensing minute objects because fiber tip is a thin sleeve
- 40mm sleeve type can be bent in any direction
- Detection of tiny chips - fiber can be installed with only the ø0.25mm in sleeve close to minute section
- Detection of fine-pitch connector pins - ultra-small diameter fiber with ø0.125mm in beam axis can detect insertion or bending of fine-pitch connector pins
- Centering accuracy of 1/10mm or less (FT-E13/E23)
- Flat Type
- Thin, rectangular shape can be installed in narrow locations
- Fiber offers good workability
- Can be mounted directly with screws
- Supplied with boss that allows for a single-mount point
- Fiber guide for additional space savings (FT-ZxHBW)
- Narrow Beam
- Not easily affected by surrounding obstacles, even in long distances, due to narrow beam
- Wide Beam
- Senses workpiece with indefinite shape or position in the wide beam without missing
- Can be used to discriminate shape
- Oil Resistant
- Fiber core will not harden or break, even in environments where oil is present
- Resistant to oil by using fluorine resin
- Full protection with IP68G rating (FT-R60Y)
- Cable protection with IP67 rating (FT-R44Y)
- Chemical Resistant
- Metal-free design
- With case and fiber sheath made of PFA, fiber can be used with various types of chemical liquids
- Full protection with IP68G rating (FT-HL80Y/L80Y/V80Y/Z802Y)
- Heat Resistant
- Can be used under environments of -60°C to +350°C
- Joint type for wider workability available
- Vacuum Resistant
- Usable in high-temperatures of +300°C vacuum
- Highly resistant to repeated bending
- Liquid Leak / Liquid Detection
- Detects liquid levels in tanks or detects leaks in semiconductor device manufacturing
