Murata Electronics ECAS Polymer Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors
Murata ECAS Polymer Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors offer low equivalent series resistance (ESR) of 4.5mΩ to 40mΩ and high capacitance of 15µF to 470µF with rated voltages from 2VDC to 25VDC. In addition to low ESR and large capacitance, the ECAS series features low impedance and no DC bias characteristic of capacitance and stable temperature characteristics. These capacitors are constructed with a resin-molded structure, multilayer aluminum foil for the anode, and a solid conductive polymer for the cathode. These polymer aluminum electrolytic capacitors (ECAS) exhibit strong ESR performance compared to traditional electrolytic capacitors and provide similar characteristics compared to multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs). The ECAS line also provides good temperature characteristics, no need for voltage derating, and resistance to short circuits. The series also offers noise suppression, ripple absorption, decoupling abilities on power lines, and capacitance stability at high operating frequencies and temperatures. Unlike MLCCs, these capacitors do not exhibit a drop with applied DC voltage. Murata ECAS Polymer Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors are available in a case size of 7.3mm x 4.3mm with three thickness options.
470uF Capacitance
The ECASD40E477M006KA0 module achieves Murata's largest capacitance — 470µF, along with low 4.5mΩ ESR, in a D-size case (7.3mm x 4.3mm) with a maximum product height of 2mm. There is no DC bias characteristic of capacitance, and because temperature characteristics are also stable, the ECASD40E477M006KA0 excels in ripple absorption, smoothness, and transient response performance. This makes it suitable for the smoothing of the input-output current of various power supply circuits and the backup use over the load change of the CPU circumference.
The module also offers excellent ripple absorption, smoothness, and transient response performance compared to tantalum capacitors, as well as no risk of ignition.
