MaxLinear Power Modules

MaxLinear Power Modules are complete non-isolated DC/DC power management solutions that enable fast time-to-market and save board spaces. These synchronous step-down power modules are complete system-in-package power management solutions with fully integrated power converters including MOSFETs, inductors, and internal input and output capacitors. The power modules are available in 22V and 40V, 3A to 20A variants. The power modules are housed in QFN packages and provide superior thermal performance and manufacturability in smaller footprints. The QFN packages make a visual inspection of solder joints possible and ease electrical debugging.

The XR79x modules utilize a patented emulated current mode Constant On-Time (COT) control.0 This provides exceptional full-range 0.1% line regulation and 1% output accuracy over the full temperature range. The COT control loop enables operation with ceramic output capacitors, eliminating loop compensation components. The power modules are ideally suitable for the FPGA, DSP, and ASIC power systems, base stations, repeaters, networking, telecommunications, industrial, and embedded systems.

Evaluation Kits

Evaluation Kits provide a platform to evaluate the features and performance of the Maxilinear step-down power modules. These evaluation kits offer a host of protection features including over-current, over-temperature, over-voltage, short-circuit, open feedback detect, and UVLO to achieve safe operation under abnormal operating conditions. Other features include a low impedance power-good flag when power is removed, and precision enabled/programmable soft-start.
