Altera Cyclone® V FPGAs and SoCs are a family designed to deliver a balance of high functionality, flexibility, and power efficiency. Built on the low-power fab process, the devices feature an enhanced FPGA fabric with up to 301K logic elements, integrated high-speed transceivers, and variable-precision DSP blocks that are AI-capable. With a broad mix of features, Cyclone V supports applications requiring robust processing capabilities, flexible I/O configurations, and high-speed data transfer. The SoC variants integrate an Arm®-based hard processor system (HPS) with dedicated memory controllers and high-bandwidth interconnects, offering seamless communication between the processor and FPGA fabric. With support for PCIe 2.0, DDR3 memory, and a variety of I/O standards, Cyclone V enables high-performance yet cost-effective solutions across industrial automation, automotive, video processing, and communications sectors.

Cyclone V SoC FPGA Architecture
Cyclone V SoC FPGA devices offer a powerful dual-core Arm Cortex-A9 MPCore processor surrounded by rich peripherals and a hardened memory controller. The FPGA fabric, with up to 110K LEs (logic elements), is connected to the hard processor system (HPS) through a high-speed >100Gbps interconnect backbone.
