Aavid, Thermal Division of Boyd Corporation Chillers are designed for precise temperature control, high reliability, and efficient thermal management in demanding applications. The recirculating chillers leverage compression refrigeration to reach sub-ambient temperatures and maintain high-temperature stability. Chillers can be found in data centers, manufacturing facilities, medical equipment, test and calibration equipment, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, and general industry.

The chillers incorporate compressors, condensers, evaporators, and expansion valves. The compressor pumps refrigerant gas into the condenser, where it releases heat and converts it into a high-pressure liquid. This liquid passes through the expansion valve, experiencing a pressure drop and transforming into a low-pressure liquid. In the evaporator, the liquid refrigerant absorbs heat from the cooling fluid, causing it to evaporate into a low-pressure gas. The cycle then repeats as the gas returns to the compressor.
