ESD Protection Solutions

Trends in reduced chip protection and harsher end-user environments are requiring the need for enhanced protection solutions. Littelfuse produces varistors, suppressors, indicators, and more so users can find the right protection to ensure the long-term reliable operation of applications.

Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) Diodes

Littelfuse TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) Diodes are a broad range of circuit protection products designed to protect electronic circuits against transients and overvoltage threats such as EFT (electrically fast transients) and ESD (electro-static discharge). Lightning strikes, inductive load switching, and ESD cause electrical over-stresses associated with the transmission on data lines and electronic circuits. Offered in a variety of surface mount and through-hole circuit board mounting formats, the TVS Diode portfolio includes high peak pulse current and peak pulse power options up to 20kA and 30kW, respectively. Littelfuse TVS Diodes are chosen for the fast response time (low clamping voltage), lower capacitance, and low leakage current. TVS Diodes are available in both unidirectional (unipolar) or bidirectional (bipolar) diodes circuit configurations. 

AQ15CANA Bidirectional SPA® TVS Diode Array

Littelfuse AQ15CANA Bidirectional SPA® TVS Diode Array is fabricated with proprietary silicon avalanche technology that provides a high ESD (electrostatic discharge) protection level for electronic equipment. The general-purpose AQ15CANA array safely absorbs repetitive ESD strikes of ±30kV (contact and air discharge defined in IEC 61000-4-2) without any performance degradation. In addition, it can safely dissipate a 9A 8/20μs surge event as defined in IEC 61000-4-5, 2nd Edition. Applications include automotive, CAN Bus, factory automation, lighting control (DALI), and ADAS/body/electronic/powertrain control units.

General-Purpose ESD Protection SPA Diodes

Littelfuse General-Purpose ESD Protection SPA Diodes protect electronics from transient voltage damage. The wide selection offers diodes that meet industry requirements to solve multiple exposure issues. Typical applications for Littelfuse General-Purpose ESD Protection SPA Diodes include 10/100/1000 Ethernet, DC powerlines, and general I/O.

TVS Silicon Protection Arrays (SPA)

Littelfuse Silicon Protection Array (SPA®) TVS Diodes are designed to protect electronics from very fast and damaging voltage transients, such as lightning and electrostatic discharge (ESD). These diodes offer an ideal protection solution for I/O interfaces and digital and analog signal lines in computer and consumer portable electronics. Littelfuse TVS diodes offer a broader application use and improved impulse protection performance over conventional diodes.
