LEDs are in stock with same-day shipping at Mouser from leading manufacturers. Mouser is an authorized distributor for many LED manufacturers, including ams OSRAM, Bivar, Broadcom Limited, Cree LED, Dialight, Lumileds, & more.
LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) are semiconductor devices that convert electrical energy directly into visible, infrared, or ultraviolet light through an efficient electroluminescent process. They offer long operating lifetimes, low power consumption, fast switching speeds, and high reliability, making them one of the most widely used technologies for indication, illumination, signaling, and display applications. These versatile components help improve energy efficiency, system performance, and design flexibility across a broad range of electronic and industrial systems.
Types: The most common LED types include single color LEDs, multi-color LEDs, RGB LEDs, high-power LEDs, infrared LEDs, ultraviolet LEDs, surface-mount LEDs, through-hole LEDs, chip-on-board (COB) LEDs, and LED arrays, each optimized for specific lighting, indication, and signaling requirements.
Applications: LEDs are widely used in industrial automation equipment, consumer electronics, automotive systems, medical devices, communication equipment, displays, signage, architectural lighting, indicators, and smart lighting applications to provide efficient illumination and visual feedback.
Selection requirements: To choose LEDs, evaluate color or wavelength, luminous intensity, forward voltage, forward current, viewing angle, package type, thermal performance, power consumption, and suitability for the intended electrical and environmental conditions.
