Consumer Electronics (Tack)

PEM Consumer Electronics (Tack) offer microPEM® solutions such as TackPin® fasteners to assemble electronic devices that have thin-sheet or panel enclosures. PEM fasteners are smaller than screws and have a sleek cosmetic profile, making them ideal for today's consumer electronics. They are lighter, stronger, and more reliable than traditional screws. They are also easier to install, which results in faster production and reduced maintenance on the line. PEM fasteners also reduce or eliminate loose hardware, which means less scrap waste. PEM Consumer Electronics (Tack) products feature a variety of TackPin Self-Clinching Fasteners, including MPP™ microPEM Self-Clinching Pins, MSOFS™ microPEM Flaring Standoffs, SMTSO™ microPEM Surface-Mount Fasteners. Ideal applications include laptops, smartphones, tablets and readers, wearables, and gaming and handheld devices.

Datacom/Telecom (SSR)

PEM Datacom/Telecom (SSR) provides innovative solutions to fit today's demanding communication/transmission needs. PEM fastening products have a smaller footprint than traditional fasteners, making them ideally suited for smaller applications, and fewer components mean less scrap waste as well as faster installation. These fasteners are manufactured in PEM's Clean Lab, which uses sophisticated cleaning and testing processes to meet ISO 16232 and VDA 19 standards. PEM Datacom/Telecom (SSR) features a range of fasteners, including self-clinching nuts, self-clinching standoffs/spacers, and cable-mounting accessories. Typical applications are servers, switches, and routers to 5G network infrastructure and data centers.

TK4™ microPEM® TackSert® Pins

PEM (PennEngineering) TK4™ microPEM® TackSert® Pins enable the attachment of metal sheets to plastics and PCBs, replacing costly screw installations in applications where disassembly is not required. These TK fasteners are ideal for more brittle materials, and a helical knurl with an undercut just below the fastener head helps create an interference fit that frictionally resists pull-out. The simple press-in installation does not require heat or ultrasonics, and it eliminates the costs and concerns associated with micro screws. These pins feature a registered trademark PEM dimple design and are easily installed automatically, offering a tapered tip for alignment and a low-profile head for space savings. The TK4 microPEM TackSert series is ideal for automotive applications, wearables, laptops, tablets and eReaders, smartphones, and gaming devices.
