USB 3.1 Type C Circuit Protection

Littelfuse USB 3.1 Type C Circuit Protection delivers overcurrent and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection while maintaining USB 3.1 Type C data integrity. The host and all self-powered hubs must implement overcurrent protection for safety purposes and the hub must have a way to detect the overcurrent condition and report it to the USB software. SP11xx Discrete Unidirectional TVS Diodes

Littelfuse SP11xx Discrete Unidirectional TVS Diodes are fabricated in a proprietary silicon avalanche technology to protect each I/O pin and provide a high level of protection for electronic equipment against electrostatic discharges (ESD). These robust diodes can safely absorb repetitive ESD strikes at ±30kV (contact and air discharge, EIC 61000-4-2) without performance degradation. Each Littelfuse SP11xx diode can safely dissipate 80A (SP1105S) of 8/20µs surge current (IEC 61000-4-5 2nd edition) with very low clamping voltages.
