PolySwitch Resettable Devices

Littelfuse PolySwitch and POLY-FUSE Devices are Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) devices that offer a resettable overcurrent protection alternative, reducing warranty, service, and repair costs. PTCs increase resistance as temperature increases due to increased flow. The components are designed to limit unsafe currents while allowing constant safe current levels, resistance will "reset" automatically when the fault is removed, and temperature returns to safe levels. The ability of the PTCs to reset themselves after exposure to a fault current makes them ideal within circuits that are not easily accessible. PTCs are typically used as circuit protection in applications where sensitive components are at constant risk of damage from overcurrent conditions. The components are also ideal for situations where frequent overcurrent conditions occur or constant uptime is required. Littelfuse Resettable PTCs (PPTCs) are typically used in consumer electronics, power line, telecom, I/O port, process control and medical equipment protection applications.

Indoor LED Lighting Circuit Protection

Littelfuse Indoor LED Lighting Circuit Protection ensures a long operating life, increased energy efficiency, and safety. LEDs can be damaged by voltage or current surges, and by extreme temperatures. Littelfuse circuit protection technology protects LED assemblies from potential damage. Important circuit protection technologies include metal-oxide varistors (MOVs), transient voltage suppression (TVS) diodes, and fuses.

Battery Strap PolySwitch PTCs

Littelfuse Battery Strap PolySwitch Resettable Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) Devices provide reliable, non-cycling protection against overcharging and short circuit events for rechargeable battery cells where resettable protection is desired. The axial leaded products offer several material platforms to help protect battery applications. Each material platform offers different performance characteristics that allow the engineer greater design flexibility. Littelfuse PolySwitch devices for battery protection include the SRP, LR4, VTP, VLP, VLR series, disc, and other special application strap devices.

ECall Solutions

Littelfuse ECall Solutions help preserve an automobile's ability to call the nearest emergency center after a crash. A range of Littelfuse TVS diodes and diode arrays, MLVs, MOVs, fuses, and more defend against the overcurrents, ESD, load dump, and surges that threaten these critical safety-based functionalities.

Low Resistance Resettable PTCs

Littelfuse Low Resistance Resettable PPTCs offer ultra-low normal operating resistance while maintaining the same performance of other Littelfuse PPTC products. The low resistance devices offer a 0.1A to 6A maximum current range, a 5V to 12V maximum voltage range, and overcurrent and over-temperature protections for various applications. The low-resistance resettable PPTCs are available in the Surface Mount Low Rho SMD Series, the Surface Mount LoRho Series, and the Battery Strap SL Series. The components are halogen-free, lead-free, and RoHS Compliant.

Automotive Application Solutions

Littelfuse Automotive Solutions contain a portfolio of AEC-Q101 and AEC-Q200 qualified TVS diodes, diode arrays, varistors, multilayer varistors, and POLY-FUSE® PTCs. Each new generation of vehicles has an increased number of electronics that control everything from the radio to fuel injection.
